Access (from Naha to Cape Maeda)<\/span>
\nThe journey from Naha Airport to the Blue Cave takes approximately 1.5 hours! Cape Maeda is situated near Onna Village at the center of Okinawa Island.
\n\u3010Driving\u3011<\/span>
\nFrom Naha, you can either take the freeway or just normal roads. If it is not rush hour, travel time will be roughly the same by either way.
\n\uff1cBy the freeway\uff1e<\/span>
\nDrive on the freeway from \u201cNakachi IC\u201d, head north for around 30-40 minutes, and exit the freeway at \u201cIshikawa IC\u201d. After exiting the freeway, turn right at the first traffic light, which will lead to Prefectural Route 73. Afterwards, head west and after a while, you will reach an intersection (National Route 58), turn left here, and then continue straightforward for 5 minutes. You will see the Renaissance Okinawa Resort (Hotel) on your right. Turn right at the traffic light in front of the hotel and continue along the coast. After proceeding straightforward for some time, you will see a sign for \u201cCape Maeda\u201d. Turn right at the intersection and then just follow the road.

\nIf you do not wish to use the freeway, head north on National Route 58. After passing through Chatan-cho and Yomitan, you will enter Onna Village. Once you enter Onna Village, a sign for \u201cRyukyu-Mura\u201d will appear to your left. Please continue in the direction of Ryukyu-Mura. After passing through Ryukyu-Mura, continue forwards until you reach a T junction. Turn left at the intersection for Prefectural Route 6 and continue straightforward. When you see the sign for Cape Maeda, turn right at the intersection then continue down the road.<\/p>\n

\u3010By bus\u3011<\/span>
\nUsing public transport.
\nIf you depart from Naha Airport, take the \u201cSystem 120 to Nago Bus Terminal\u201d.
\nFrom Naha Airport, it takes around 1.5 hours to get to \u201cRyukyu-Mura Bus Terminal\u201d. Walking from Ryukyu-Mura Bus Terminal to Cape Maeda (where the Blue Cave is) will take more than 30 minutes. It takes around 6 minutes by car. If you choose to walk, please be prepared for the distance. The walk may be uncomfortable in the summer, so we do not recommend walking. You can take a taxi from the bus terminal to Cape Maeda.<\/p>\n

\nThe one-way bus fare from Naha Airport to Ryukyu-Mura Bus Terminal is 1,160 Yen.
\nBecause it is a form of public transport, delays due to \u201cOkinawa time\u201d (referring to the slower pace of life on the island, usually a 30 minute to 1-hour delay) do not occur but depending on weather and traffic conditions, it\u2019s common to wait for 10 to 15 minutes, or the bus may arrive ahead of schedule.
